Tignes Les Brevieres
Tignes Les Brevieres has to be one of the best kept secrets in the French alps. The location of this charming village at 1550 meters is at the end of the extensive 'Espace Killy' ski area means you have easy access by a state of the art lift system to the high-altitude Glaciers of Tignes as well as enjoying serene forest runs with little through traffic.
In keeping with its character you will find Tignes Les Brevieres relaxed and friendly with many restaurants serving local savoie dishes such as fondue, raclette and pirard as well as pizzas. The village also has a number of cafe's, pubs, shops and bars for all tastes of après-ski activities.
The Tignes glacier peaks at 3550 meters making it France's highest ski-able glacier. With an excellent snow history and diverse terrain, Tignes has something for everyone, from large rolling blue runs such as the Anemone piste to the Vallon De La Sache, one of the longest in resort off piste runs in the world.

Tignes has over 60 restaurants and 50 bars so for a real day off you cant go wrong. It is also possible to access 2 of the mountain restaurants on foot with a pedestrian pass. The Toviere at the top of the Aeroski Lift in Le Lac and Panoramic at the top of the Funicular in Val Claret.
The mountains around Tignes are truly spectacular and it is possible to get around to see some amazing views without skiing. The chair lift to Tignes Les Boisse (the village next to the Dam) is free to passengers, from here you can pop onto the very useful Bus service that runs around Tignes. the bus service runs every 15 minutes and this allows passengers to get around Tignes Le Lac and Tignes Val Claret for free.
From Le Lac you can travel on the Aeroski to the mountain restaurant The Toviere and from Val Claret you are able to buy a pass to get on the funicular train, this runs through the mountain and up to the Glacier. Here you can enjoy the spectacular views have lunch and meet friends.
